| Size & Weight | Very small. Adults generally weigh 3-7 lbs (≈ 1.3-3.2 kg). |
| Height | Around 6-11 inches (≈ 15-30 cm) at the shoulder, depending on lines. |
| Coat | Double coat: a dense, soft undercoat, plus a longer, harsher outer coat. It gives them the “fluffy”, puffed up/ruff-around-neck look. |
| Tail | Heavily plumed tail that curls over the back. |
| Head & Face | Fox-like face: pointed muzzle, erect triangular ears, alert eyes. In recent years some lines also emphasise “teddy bear” type face (shorter muzzle, rounder features) but classic Spitz traits are present. |
| Colors & Patterns | Very wide variety: solid colors (orange, red, cream, black, white, blue, brown), parti-colours (white plus patches), sable, merle, brindle, etc. |
Temperament & Behaviour

Bold, confident, often acting like a dog much larger than they are. They have big personalities in small bodies.

Very alert & curious. Good watchdogs in many cases (they’ll bark at anything unusual) though excessive barking can become an issue if not managed.

Intelligent and trainable, but also sometimes stubborn. They respond to firm, consistent, positive training.

Sociable with their families; many form strong bonds. Because of their toy size, they can be fragile, so gentle handling is important.

Energetic, though their exercise needs are moderate. Short walks, indoor play, mental enrichment are usually sufficient.
