SunConure High Yellow

Appearance

  • Size: 30–35 cm (12–14 in) long

  • Weight: 100–120 g (3.5–4.2 oz)

  • Body: Slender parrot body with long, pointed tail.

  • Plumage (High Yellow):

    • Much more yellow overall than standard Sun Conures.

    • Reduced or minimal orange and red on face, chest, and belly.

    • Green wing feathers remain, with some blue in flight feathers.

  • Beak: Black, hooked.

  • Feet: Gray, zygodactyl (2 toes forward, 2 back).

  • Eyes: Dark brown with white eye rings.


🥚 Breeding & Lifespan

  • Clutch Size: 3–5 eggs.

  • Incubation: ~23–27 days (female incubates, male helps feed).

  • Fledging: ~7–8 weeks.

  • Lifespan: 20–30 years in captivity with proper care.


🌿 Temperament & Personality

  • Very social, playful, and affectionate.

  • Strong bond with owners; can be cuddly.

  • Intelligent and curious → needs stimulation.

  • Can be loud: their calls are high-pitched and frequent, especially when seeking attention.

  • Do well in pairs or with dedicated human interaction.
